Pre-College at Princeton: Typical Day

Julian Krinsky Pre-College at Princeton students walking on campus at Princeton University.

Discover Princeton: Beyond the Classroom

You’ll be living in Princeton, the ultimate college town. A walk on campus and through town will help you see why visionaries such as Albert Einstein and John Nash were proud to call Princeton home. The town and university were chosen as the filming site for the major Hollywood films “A Beautiful Mind” and “IQ,” and is the hospital setting for the hit TV series “House.”

Princeton offers a variety of cultural experiences, including incredible architecture and sculptures, museums boasting Einstein memorabilia, and plays at the Tony award-winning McCarter Theatre. Across from campus, Nassau Street and Palmer Square offer many shopping and dining options. And the train station on the Princeton campus offers convenient travel to both New York and Philadelphia, both less than an hour away.

Here’s your schedule for a typical day:

8:30 — Breakfast in the Dining Halls

10:00–12:30 — Major Course
You’ll choose one major for the full session when you apply.

12:30–2:00 — Lunch and Relaxation.

2:00–4:00 — Minor
Choose one minor for Mondays and Thursdays and one for Tuesdays and Fridays. Every Wednesday afternoon, travel to regional destinations while visiting East Coast colleges.

4:00 — Afternoon Activity
Meet with your mentor, visit the computer lab, explore Princeton, work with a professor or hit the gym. We also have weekly College Workshops to give students an inside look into the college admissions process. From building a resume to understanding the selection process, our workshops will supplement what you’re currently working on with your guidance counselor.

6:30 — Dinner
Most evenings we will dine together in campus dining halls. Once a week we’ll dine off campus at a local restaurant.

7:30 — Evening Activities
Whether you’d rather stay on campus or head into town, every night there are scheduled activities to interest everyone.
