The Summer Arts Academy for High School Students is an intensive, college-credit program for talented, motivated teens interested in a fine arts education. Develop your drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking skills through studio classes and trips to the Barnes Foundation, New York Museum of Modern Art, National Gallery of Art and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in Washington, D.C.
There is no better place to prepare for art school than the Academy, with its exceptional faculty of practicing, professional artists. The Summer Academy is an inspiring four-week foundational program of college level courses designed to develop your artistry and skill.
All of our camps and programs feature small class sizes and low camper-to-counselor ratios. Room is limited and each year more people apply than we can accommodate. Please apply online today to reserve your space.
In addition to challenging studio classes, one day a week is devoted to exploring the contemporary world of art and artists:
Lunchtime discussions address a variety of topics:
The program concludes with an exhibition in the Academy Student Gallery, complete with an opening reception for family and friends. Completion of this challenging, enriching program confers four college-level credits.
