International Leadership With Model UN: Program Specifics

Simulation at Julian Krinsky Model UN Camp

Essential Experience for Tomorrow’s Leaders

International Leadership with Model UN will introduce you to the exciting field of global politics and equip you with the essential skills needed for future leadership. Our creative approach blends world history, current events and leadership training to help you understand international relations on an advanced level. Your four-week session of workshops and simulations will feature guest speakers, including international dignitaries, members of foreign embassies and authorities in the field.

Realistic UN Simulations

You and your fellow delegates will represent the world’s nations in Model UN simulations where you debate the most urgent issues facing our world today. You’ll prepare for the sessions by exploring the current political situation, leadership positions, voting patterns and alliances of the country you represent. Never participated in a Model UN? Don’t worry. The program is designed to accommodate new and experienced students.

An Unforgettable Summer Experience

Debate, public speaking and research workshops will develop the skills you need to be an effective diplomat. Tutorials will help you feel comfortable in the situations you might encounter as a global leader. In addition, you will enjoy field trips to the United Nations in New York City and Embassy Row in Washington, D.C., as well as activities and social life on the Penn campus and in Philadelphia.

Advisors From Collegiate Model UN Teams

The academic program will be staffed by undergraduate and graduate students who are experienced members of Model UN teams. Committed to making your experience intellectually rewarding and socially enjoyable, they will be key resources for your successful preparation and participation.
