Come work with the award-winning film and video professionals at Philadelphia’s state-of-the-art public broadcasting station for a complete script-to-screen experience. During our intensive three-week program, you will explore all facets of film production — including scriptwriting, scouting locations in historic Philadelphia, directing, and post-production for your own film.
All of our camps and programs feature small class sizes and low camper-to-counselor ratios. Room is limited and each year more people apply than we can accommodate. Please apply online today to reserve your space.
You’ll start with a hands-on introduction to filmmaking, covering all the creative and technical demands of digital story-telling. Next you’ll apply your classroom knowledge as you cultivate your voice and style as a filmmaker and use professional video equipment to develop and produce your short film. The program will conclude in an exciting film festival to showcase your work.
These videos were written, filmed, acted and produced by our WHYY Film Academy students. Both have been featured on the WHYY Learning Lab website homepage.
