While many believe that American Sign Language (ASL) simply imitates standard American English, it is actually a rich, independent language.

With over 1 million deaf people in the United States, learning this unique method of communication offers the opportunity to communicate with a substantial percentage of U.S. Citizens. The class will focus on basic vocabulary and introductions and cover the fundamentals of both fingerspelling and numbering. Additionally, you will learn how American English Grammar influences ASL and cover basic sentence structure. So, take this course and learn the fundamentals of the fourth most commonly used language in the United States.
