One of the most exciting and anticipated events of the summer, here at Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs, is happening tomorrow night at Haverford College!

It’s the “tay-bandz” dance-a-thon, hosted by Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs and “tay-bandz,” a pediatric cancer research foundation.
All week, the students and their counselors have been busy preparing for this special event. There will be lots of great music, dancing (of course!), as well as fun-filled games throughout the evening.
Last year, our students raised over $1,000. This year, with all the excitement and energy being poured into this event, we hope to well surpass this amount!
“tay-bandz” is a “kids helping kids” foundation
Founded in 2003 by Taylor Matthews, a bone cancer patient, “tay-bandz” holds community-based efforts across the United States. It is a tax exempt 501(c) 3 organization.
Sadly, Taylor lost her 5 year battle to cancer in February, 2008. To help carry out her wish that “someday no child will have to face cancer,” Taylor’s family has continued to raise funding and awareness of pediatric cancer in her memory. Mr. Matthews states, “These kids are in desperate need of a hero. Private donations and philanthropy are all they have.”
Taylor’s younger sister, Corey Matthews, has attended the fitness program at Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs. In support of the Matthews family and pediatric cancer research, Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs will come together to donate financially to the organization and provide emotional encouragement.
Giving generously to those in need
“It is crucial in times like these to encourage students to give generously to those in need and lift each other up. We are honored to have the Matthews family with us this summer and join with them in doing whatever we can to support pediatric cancer research,” said Julian Krinsky.
The “tay-bandz” dance-a-thon will take place at Haverford College on Friday, July 23rd, 2010. Over 400 students will be attending, along with the Matthews family. High school students living in the area are welcome to join in the fun, too!
