Modeling a Perfect World

When you think of summer camp, the first thing that comes to mind is usually not debating issues such as terrorism and women’s rights, but that’s exactly what our Model UN students did a few days ago. Also, they had fun doing it! Country by country, they stood at a podium and debated why their resolution should be passed. In the end, one resolution passed, while the other failed. This is very similar to what happens at the “real” United Nations every day.

mun-simulationThe goals at the Model UN program are similar to those at many of our other summer programs that challenge our students academically. Students learn valuable skills, such as learning how to craft an argument and have confidence in public speaking.

The goals of our summer programs are aimed to aid students not only in high school and into college, but also in their personal and work lives, as they work to model a perfect world.
