An Unforgettable Day for JKCP Girls

Recently, 24 of our lucky students had the opportunity to head over to NBC’s 10! Show studio.

We had the pleasure of learning how to make a 100 mile omelete with grape tomato confit, goat cheese and chrysanthemum tea with Chef David Berg. We learned about the hottest hotel deals for the summer from Gabe Saglie, senior editor of Travelzoo.com. Then, for the best part – we met two huge Hollywood stars, James Brolin and Zac Efron!

James Brolin was an absolute pleasure to see in person. He was very laid-back, open, kind and humorous! Then came teen heartthrob Zac Efron – and all of the girls went absolutely crazy!

There were so many girls who arrived without tickets on the chance of getting in to see Zac Efron. To accommodate these fans, the 10! Show decided to leave two empty seats in the audience for two. To decide who would be lucky enough to receive these seats, they held an ice cream eating contest. The winner was a girl from West Virginia. She and her mother were escorted into the studio, given signed posters, and the microphone Zac Efron used on the show as a souvenir.

After the show was over, we were able to hang around for pictures and signatures from the cast members. Unfortunately, James Brolin and Zac Efron were not included! However, we left the studio with goodie bags, ice cream, and, of course, 24 very happy girls. Thanks to the 10! Show, this is one camp experience that won’t be quickly forgotten!
