Today we welcome our guest blogger, Mukundan Nandakumar:
Most people play tennis for one of two reasons – to learn a sport that they can play all their life or to play in leagues, play for their school or compete in USTA tournaments. In both cases, for any kid to become a complete tennis player, it takes a good amount of time spent on the court and having fun doing it.

Tennis coaches at JKST offer private and semi private lessons which help kids develop good technique and form. To supplement these lessons, a wide array of clinics are offered which help kids compete with their peers and put to use what they have learned during their lessons. Since clinics involve more activity than private lessons, kids also get a chance to improve their fitness level and hone their competitive instincts in a friendly environment.
While taking lessons and playing in clinics help develop their game, tennis is really an individual sport as unlike football or basketball where the coaches play a vital role in the final outcome. Therefore, playing practice matches become essential in the development of any tennis player.

According to USPTR qualified coach Carl Richards, “kids need to take lessons, play in clinics and participate in match play in order to develop their game.” At JKST match play is offered for both kids and adults. At JKST players can focus on improving their all-around game.
Remember, tennis is a sport for a lifetime and one of the most fun ways to get a great workout.
